The grapes come from vineyards situated on hills with a moderate slope, composed of marls of medium consistency dominated by fine particles such as silt and sand, as opposed to clay. Nevertheless, thanks to its concentration of nutrient minerals, clay helps to give remarkable structure to the wine.
